— LONACONING — Charles Richard "Dick" Crawford, 75, of Lonaconing, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.

Born on July 26, 1938 in Barton, he was the son of the late Joseph Woodrow Crawford and Myrtle Jane (Shriver) Crawford.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Ann Blubaugh and Susan Crawford.

Dick worked for PPG Glass until they closed, then retired after working for Local 616 Laborers Union. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he also loved looking for ginseng and especially mushrooms. He was a member of the Jackson Run Hunting Club, Lonaconing Trap Club and the former Eichhorn (Duckpin) Bowling League. Dick also loved gardening and was always proud of his gigantic tomatoes and cabbage.

Dick was a loving husband and father. He adored his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his special buddy Hunter and his best pal Dave Cameron.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carolee (Cameron) Crawford; his children, Sherry (Crawford) Schriver and husband Donald "Donut" of Winchester, Va. and Chuck Crawford and wife Michelle of Lonaconing; grandchildren, Bernie Bittinger and wife Denise, Kristy Weidlich and husband Jeremy and Hunter Crawford; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor, Kaylee, Scottie, Aidan and Allison; six brothers, Joseph Crawford, Herb Crawford and wife Betty, Ronald Crawford and wife Linda, Ellsworth "Jake" Crawford, Robert "Bob" Crawford and wife Ruth and John Crawford and wife Sue; two sisters, Mary Beeman and husband Tom and Bonnie Morton and husband Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on  Monday, Dec. 16,  2013 from 1 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 4 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.
