RAWLINGS — Marlene Rose “Brownie” Woolard, 85, of Rawlings, passed away on Sunday Dec. 15, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 18, 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Anna B. (Robinson) Skelly. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, John D. Woolard; brothers and sisters, Hyacinth B. Skelly, Mary C. (Skelly) Carr, William A. Skelly, Eva L. (Skelly) Klipstein, Genevieve G. (Skelly) Evans, Freda V. Skelly, Harry T. Skelly, Gwendolyn G. (Skelly) Hopkins; son-in-laws Paul Campbell and Donald Yates.
Brownie was a member of Saint Ambrose Catholic Church in Cresaptown. Brownie retired from working at J C Penny’s Department Store. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, and above all being with her family.
Surviving are her four daughters, Marianna Woolard of Rawlings, Susan Campbell of Rawlings, Patricia Ansel and Robert Thorton of Brunswick, Helen Kelly and husband Michael of New Castle Pa.; one son, John T. Woolard of Confluence, Pa.; two sisters, Helen E. (Skelly) Maiers of Los Angeles, Calif., and Delores A. (Skelly) Webb of LaVale; six grandchildren, Kimberli Shewbridge, Scott Lockard, Jennifer Jewell, Matthew Campbell, Michael Kelly and Krista Kelly; great-grandchildren. Ryan Shewbridge, Brian Jewell, Shane Duckworth, Rylie Shewbridge, and Colton Kelly; two great-great grandchildren, Eli Jewell and Trista Lynn Duckworth, and another on the way.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) Cresaptown on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Mountains, Saint Ambrose Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in Saint Ambrose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Lockard, Michael Kelly, Mat-thew Campbell, Ryan Shewbridge and Brian Jewell.
