— CENTERVILLE, Pa. — Donald Walter Elliott, 84, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2013 at home.

Born Oct. 15, 1929 in Centerville, he was the son of the late Clyde and Minnie (Rice) Elliott. He was also preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters, Hazel Carter, Ruth Zembower, Bill Elliott, Edward Elliott, Edna Hite, and Hilda Elliott.

Donald was a United States Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at the Schmidt Bakery, the Old German Brewery, and later worked as a driver for Timbrook Auto Dealership. Donald was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Centerville, the Bedford American Legion Post 113. He enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, and hunting.  

Surviving are his former wife, Lois Grace Elliott; his daughter, Lois (Elliott) Slack and husband Brian of Nashville Tenn.; his son, Lynnwood “Woody” Elliott and wife Carla of Romney, W.Va.; granddaughter, Amanda Elliott; three sisters, Mildred Grabenstein, Evelyn Adams, Grace McElfish; numerous nieces and nephews

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., ( 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Centerville on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joyce Hillegass officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Centerville. Military honors will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church, Centerville.
