BURLINGTON, W.Va. — Robert H. Davis, 79, of Burlington, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at the Hampshire Long Term Care Unit, Romney, W.Va.
Born on Oct. 14, 1934 at Baltimore, he was a son of the late James and Lillian (Ridenour) Davis. The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Davis was retired as a machinist with Kop-Flex in Harmans. He was a member and served as past president of Local 1784, International Association of Machinists. He also was a member of the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department, having served as Sergeant at Arms for 15 years.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Nancy Lee (Brown) Davis; four children, Robert H. Davis Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., Carl Davis of Port Deposit, Lillian McKean of Texas and James Davis of Port Deposit; three stepchildren, Adriane Bahr-McConnell of Pikesville, Brian Bahr of Baltimore and Michael Reusing of Burlington; nine grandchildren, two step grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are close friends, Rocky and Val Cornelius of Burlington and Blaine Tewell of Baltimore.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Burlington Chapel, on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Linda Reece officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
