KEYSER, W.Va. — Evelyn Frances Saville, 90, of Heartland of Keyser, formerly of Romney, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at Heartland of Keyser.
She was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Romney, W.Va., the daughter of the late George Lee Lewis and Nita Mae Sitzel Lewis. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Victor Eldon Saville and her brother, Robert F. Lewis.
Evelyn was a life member of the Romney First United Methodist Church and a member of United Methodist Women. She was co-owner of Saville Ice and Coal Company and also a Rural Mail Carrier; she was Treasurer for many years of Romney’s Helping Hands and was a volunteer for most anything that needed doing. She loved people, her family, and always put the needs of others first.
She is survived by three sons, Edgar “Eddie” Lee Saville and his wife, Anna of Burlington, W.Va., George William “Billy” Saville and his wife Brenda, of Purgitsville, W.Va. and Donald “Donnie” “Duck” Saville and his wife Diana, of Newville, Pa.; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Dr. Rev. Roy Knight officiating.
Interment will be in Branch Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
