— KEYSER, W.Va. — Alma C. (Mathias) Wilson, 92, of Keyser, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Heartland of Keyser.

Born Feb. 20, 1921 in Moorefield, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Ada (Stultz) Mathias. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Roman Wilson on March 11, 1993; three sisters, Damie Mathias (age five), Faye Lehman both of Hardy County, and Buena Wilson of Cumberland; and two brothers, Ernest and Hikesell Mathias both of Hardy County. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Alma was raised in Hardy County, graduated as valedictorian from Hardy County High School in 1939 and a graduate of Catherman's Business School of Cumberland. She was retired after 39 years of service as a secretary from Westvaco in Luke. Alma was a dependable lady and handled all her affairs in life in an independent and professional manner.

Left to cherish her memory are two nieces, Ernestine Mathias Nichols of New Castle, Va. and Susan Wilson of Grafton, Mass.

Mrs. Wilson was cremated and buried in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Cumberland, to be with those she loved, her husband, Bill and sister, Buena. 

She requested no funeral services be held on her behalf.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
