IRENE B. MORGAN [Keyser, W.Va.]

KEYSER, W.Va. — Irene B. Morgan, 92, of Keyser, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.

Born on Aug. 12, 1921 in Pendleton County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late John F. and Hattie Mae (Mongold) Cook. She also was preceded in death by her husband, DeSales C. Morgan Sr. on April 11, 1987; a grandson, Dale Morgan; one sister and six brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Morgan was retired as a nurse's aide at Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser with 23 years of service. She also was employed at the former Ours Nursing Home in Keyser for 10 years. She was Brethren by faith and her focus in life was her children and grandchildren. She reveled in her family and in being able to take care of them, providing motherly and grandmotherly advice and was always interested in what each of them were doing in their lives.

Surviving are six sons, DeSales C. "Pete" Morgan Jr. and wife Dale of Keyser, James P. Morgan and Donald R. Morgan and wife Leona, all of Rawlings, Ronald Lee Morgan and wife Sue of Mesquite, Texas, David L. Morgan and wife Laurel of Keyser and Mark E. Morgan and wife Ann of LaVale; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. Waco Biser officiating.

Interment will be in the Dawson Cemetery, Dawson.
