— GARRETT, Pa. — Charles

“Leroy” Donaldson, 86, of Garrett,

died Feb. 1, 2014 at Meyersdale

Medical Center.

Born Feb. 22, 1927 in Martinsburg,

W.Va., the son of

Charles and Charm (Hayes)

Donaldson. Preceded in death

by his parents; wife of 49

years, Mary C. Donaldson;

son, Charles “Chuck” Donaldson

Jr.; grandson, Paul J.

Makay; brothers, Harold

Eugene “Popeye” and Marvin

Donaldson; and son-in-law,

Steve Makay.

Survived by his daughter,

Ruth Makay, Garrett; grandchildren,

Stevie J. Makay, Garrett;

Charles “Ike” Makay,

Berlin, Pa., C.J. Donaldson

and Mary Beth Donaldson,

both of Pittsburgh; greatgrandsons,

Andrew and

Aaron; and great-granddaughter,

Carly Elizabeth. Also survived

by his brother, Robert

Donaldson and wife, Barbara

Ann; and a sister, Betty Jean

Kemp, both of Meyersdale,

Pa.; and sister-in-law, Shirley

Donaldson, Garrett.

He was an U.S. Army veteran

of World War II, where he

served in Germany and was a

recipient of the Purple Heart.

He retired after 33 years from

Kelly Springfield, Cumberland,

as a truck driver. Active

lifetime member of the Garrett

Volunteer Fire Department.

and Bugle Corp., VFW Post

3504, Meyersdale, Meyersdale

Moose Club, New Baltimore

Sportsmen Club, Good Fellowship

Club, Cumberland,

Club, Barrelville.

Friends will be received

from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday at Price Funeral

Home, Meyersdale, where

services will be conducted at

7:30 p.m. with Pastor Ken

Davis officiating. Arrangements
