LONACONING — Diana Elizabeth Kifer, 64, of Lonaconing, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013.
Born Dec. 30, 1948 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Rebecca (Long) Brotemarkle. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Edna Brotemarkle.
She was a 1966 graduate of Fort Hill High School and received special honors in All-State Choir. Diana was a member of LaVale United Methodist Church, where she served in the Choir. She was also a member of the LaVale Athletic Association, and worked for many years at Sears Department Store. Diana loved reading and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her daughter, Chandra Burley and husband Kenny of Lonaconing; two sons, Steve Kifer and wife Cara of Mount Savage, Philip Kifer and wife Autymn of LaVale; one sister, Ellen Brotemarkle of Grantsville; one brother, James Brotemarkle and wife Paulette of Cumberland; 12 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the LaVale United Methodist Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon.
A funeral service will be conducted at the LaVale United Methodist Church on Thursday at noon with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made for the funeral expenses.
