— BITTINGER — J. Lottie Brenneman, 87, of Bittinger, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at WMHS Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born Aug. 5, 1925, in Deer Park, she was the daughter of the late Henry Harrison & Anna Grace (Uphole) Hardesty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce C. Brenneman, Feb. 3, 1985; seven brothers, William, Noah, Sherman, George, Clarence, Jack and Joe Hardesty; and two sisters, Edna Falstick and Nellie Hutton.  

Mrs. Brenneman was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, as well as the Women of the ELCA and a long time choir member. She and her husband operated Brenneman’s Store in Bittinger for over 30 years.

Lottie was also a member of the Grantsville BPW; the Heritage Quilters at Garrett College; the Grantsville Senior Citizen’s Quilters where she also served as a board member; the Bittinger Cemetery Association and the Bittinger Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Lee C. Brenneman and wife, Susan, Accident; three daughters, Lois A. Brenneman and fiancée, Harold D. Cole, Mtn. Lake Park, Linda M. Buckel and dear friend, Howard K. Murray, Bittinger, Lana K. Roby and husband, Larry, McHenry; one brother, Harold Hardesty, Winchester, Va.; six grandchildren, Melvin “Chip” Smith, Brian Smith, Kimberly Collins, Tina Gallucci, Lynne Musselman and Lorne Brenneman; 11 great-grandchildren, Crystal, Blake, John-athon, Carissa, Abby, Brody, Ryan, Justin, Briana, Brian and Andrew and four great-great-grandchildren, Landon, Alivia, Sarah Marie and David Charles, III.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Bittinger, with the Rev. Dr. C. Scott Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Bittinger Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church/Christian Leadership and Education Fund or the Bittinger Volunteer Fire Department.
