— ZIHLMAN — Joseph “Francis” Haupt Jr., 74, of Zihlman, went to be with the Lord from his home after a courageous 18 year battle with Parkinson’s disease on Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

He was born Jan. 2, 1939 in Frostburg, to Beatrice Passarell Haupt and the late Joseph Francis Haupt Sr.

He started out in home improvements at a very young age with his father and later branched out to form the home improvement business of Francis Haupt and Son.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Roxann (Bean) Haupt; sons, Frank Haupt III and wife Tina, Frostburg, Kenny Haupt, Hagerstown, Dale Haupt and friend Cassie, Hagerstown; daughters, Connie Burger and husband Bill, Williamsport, Marsha Deal, Hagerstown, Kim Cowan and husband Steve, Greencastle, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, Jac-quetta Smith-Burger, Corina Hartman and husband Troy, Jackie Burger, Hollie Port-mess, Heather Haupt, Eric Deal, Kenly Haupt, Paul Deal, Isaiah Haupt, Keirra Haupt, Kaleigh Haupt; great-grandchildren, Daeton Smith, Trenton Campbell, Logan Smith, Vicille Sesay, Coralyn Hartman; his faithful canine companion, Katie; brother, James Haupt and friend Christa, LaVale, Randy Haupt and wife Mary, Frostburg; sisters, Mary Housel and husband Richie, Zihlman, Rose Ellen Spataro and husband Buddy, Zihlman; numerous nieces and ne-phews.

Family would like to give special thanks to Caregiver Melissa Robison.

Family and friends were received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Durst Funeral Home, Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 9 a.m. with Pastor Ken Fisher officiating; family and friends will be received one hour prior to service.

Internment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Ron Smith, Ron Spataro, Harold Deal, Eric Deal, Paul Deal, and Kenny Felker.
