WINCHESTER, Va. — Eloise (Sharon) Herring, 95, of Winchester, Va., formerly of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013.
Born April 23, 1917, in Flintstone, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Sharon and Emma Grace (Rockwell) Sharon Alabaugh.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Neff Clayton Herring, on Aug. 8, 1981; three brothers, Lester, Francis and Edgar R. Sharon; three sisters, Ethel M. Sharon, Juanita E. Miller and S. Thelma Foreman.
Mrs. Herring was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Cumberland.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald N. Herring and wife Sallie, Ocean Shores, N.C., Paul C. Herring and wife Darlene, Ocean View, Del.; one daughter, Vicki R. Picolo and husband Ralph of Winchester, Va. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Ronald Herring, and special friend Theresa Haines of Little River, S.C., Brett L. Herring and wife Janet of McHenry, Whitney L. Herring of Williamsport, Nicolas Picolo of Winchester, Va.; and one step-granddaughter, Casey Hudson and husband Chris of Pasadena. She is also survived by three great grandchildren; Brittany Herring and fiance Chris Fickes of LaVale, Kyle Herring of McHenry, and Clayton Herring of Little River, S.C.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. 108 Virginia Ave. (www.scarpellifh.com) on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 12 to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kent Woodward officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery.
