MOUNT STORM, W.Va. — Donald Eugene Kitzmiller, 74, of Mount Storm, W.Va., died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home, Keyser, WV.

Born on Jan. 24, 1939, at Mount Storm, W.Va., he was a son of the late Jesse and Leona (LaRue) Kitzmiller. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Kitzmiller.

Mr. Kitzmiller was retired from Mead-Westvaco with 39 years of service in the calendar room. He was a 1957 graduate of Bayard High School and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the Mount Storm United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Mount Storm Lions Club. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with his grandkids. He was a devoted husband and father and will be missed by all of his family.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Barbara Mae (Jones) Kitzmiller; three sons, Troy A. Kitzmiller, of Mount Storm, Chris E. Kitzmiller, of Keyser and Brian E. Kitzmiller and wife Joan, of Mount Storm; seven brothers, John Kitzmiller and wife Margaret of Mount Storm, Jerry Kitzmiller and wife Joann, of Smyrna, Tenn., Robert Kitzmiller and wife Mary Jean, of Mount Storm, Richard Kitzmiller and wife Linda, of Mount Storm, Roger Kitzmiller, of Mount Storm, Danny Kitzmiller and wife Carla, of Purceliville, W.Va. and Randy Kitzmiller, of Mount Storm; a daughter-in-law, Anna Mae Kitzmiller, of Mount Storm; 11 grandchildren, Shannon Whetzel and husband Lee, Izaak, Abigail, Izaah and Elijah Kitzmiller, Marilee and Chris Kitzmiller II, Whitney Haggerty and husband Jason, Chasity Green and husband Drew, and Erica and Brian Eric Kitzmiller II and six great-grandchildren, Nathan and Shalea Moreland, Kaylyn Whetzel, Matthew and Linden Haggerty and Sophia Green.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, Bismarck, W.Va., on Friday, April 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Walker officiating. Friends may also call at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Mount Storm Cemetery.
