GEORGE F. “FRANK” HEINRICH [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND — George Franklin “Frank” Heinrich, 76, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 9, 1936 in Cumberland, to the late George and Mildred (Malone) Heinrich.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice J. Belleck.

He was raised in St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

Frank graduated from Allegany High School, class of 1955.

Following graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force and served for four years.

He was a sheet metal worker, by trade.

Survivors include his two sisters, Carol Kyle, Cumberland, and Pat Watring, and husband Eddie, Capon Bridge, W.Va.; his companion of 26 years, Doris Stewart, Cumberland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from noon until 1 p.m.

The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Gregory Chernevak, OFM, Cap and the Rev. Bernard Finerty, OFM, Cap officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or donate blood to the American Red Cross.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of 7 South at the hospital for the care provided during his stay.  May God bless you as you have us during this difficult time.
