WILMINGTON, N.C. — Paul Edward Murray Jr., 72, passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2012, in Wilmington, N.C.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Edward Murray, Sr. and Ethel Grace (Spessert) Murray.
He is survived by his daughters, Holly Murray and Tiffany West (Danny); and his grandsons, Anders Lloyd Martin (Christina), Joe Murray and Matthew West.
He is also survived by six siblings and their spouses, George (Miriam) Murray and Vernon (Jackie) Murray of Virginia Beach, Va., Sharon (Phillip) Kinser of Grandy, N.C., and Myrna (Randy) Davis, Peter (Cheri) Murray, and Joyce (Johnny) Fritts of Lexington, N.C.
Paul was a graduate of Elk Garden High School and West Virginia University. A Licensed Professional Engineer, he was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways and had resided in Charleston, W.Va., until five days before his passing.
Paul was an avid fan of the WVU teams and he loved to karaoke at the Moose and other venues. Irish ballads and country songs were his favorites. He loved attending reunions at Jennings Randolph Lake and at Elk Garden, W.Va.
A private celebration of his life will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
