RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Betty L. Caldwell, 88, of Ridgeley, W.Va., formerly of Levels and Romney, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2013.
She was born in Burlington, W.Va., on Jan. 30, 1924, to the late William and Tabitha (Delawder) Iman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harold R. Caldwell, on March 15, 2000; a son, David Caldwell, on May 10, 2007; a son-in-law, Allen Severt; a grandson, Ronald Patterson; two sisters, Arbutus Kerns and Veda Martin and two brothers, Willard Iman and Virgil Iman.
She had belonged to Levels CEO’s for 25 years and the Romney Tops 360 for 15 years. She loved going to the Senior Center and being with friends and neighbors. She attended God’s Word Fellowship Church where she loved and was loved by her church family. Recently she had been attending Graceland Baptist Church since living with her daughter, Barbara.
Surviving are three daughters, Donna Swert, of West Jefferson, N.C., Janet Patterson, of Manassas, Va. and Barbara Fout and husband Eddie, of Short Gap, W.Va.; a son, William Caldwell and wife Dee Dee, of Green Spring, W.Va.; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Caldwell, of Slanesville, W.Va.; a sister, Helen Adams, of Springfield, W.Va; two sisters-in-law; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the McKee Funeral Home, Romney.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. in McKee Funeral Home Chapel, 115 E. Birch Lane, Romney, W.Va., with Pastor David Simmons officiating.
Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney, W.Va.
