— RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Edith "Edie" Regina (Maiers) Mulligan, 84, departed this life Saturday, April 6, 2013, at her house surrounded by family and friends.

Born Nov. 22, 1928 in Ridgeley, she was the daughter of the late Englebert and Margaret (Jones) Maiers.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Maiers, Thomas "Teen" Maiers, and Kenneth Maiers.

Edie was a homemaker and member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club Ladies Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Quilters of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she attended.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Berton "Bert" Mulligan; and their two children, Terry M. Mulligan and wife Carlene, Burlington, W.Va. and Debra E. Palmore and husband Curtis, Kent's Store, Va.; three grandchildren, Michael Mulligan, Angela Shanholtz, and Chris-topher Flanagan; seven great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Wayne Mulligan and wife Bonnie, Baltimore,  and Charles Mulligan and wife Debbie, Ridgelely; seven step-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Maiers and wife Evelyn, Ridgeley, and Howard "Potts" Maiers and wife Katherine, Ridgeley; three sisters, Evelyn Nestor, Ridgeley, Grace Titchnell,Cumberland, and Alice Cross, Fort Ashby, W.Va.; and, numerous nieces and nep-hews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Potomac Valley Hospital, especially her hospice nurse, Jennifer Rosendale, for the care and compassion given to her, as well as the family.

As per her wishes, Edie will be cremated.
