POTTSTOWN, Pa. — Joseph “Pop” L. Miller, 60, of Pottstown, Pa., passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Joseph was born Feb. 23, 1953, in Keyser, W.Va. to Susanne and Joseph Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Susanne and Joseph and his sister, Tammy Jackson.
On May 25, 1974, he married Joanne McGoye, his childhood sweetheart in Piedmont, W.Va. He attended Potomac State College and Frostburg University graduating in 1979 with a Master of Business Administration degree. Joseph was originally employed as an English teacher and later changed careers to eventually become Vice President of telecommunications for an I.T. company. He was an avid nap-taker and movie fanatic, an all-around family man and held a soft spot especially for his grandchildren.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Joanne; four children and their spouses, Jennifer and Matthew Wolf, Lauren and Andrew Camp, Jessica and Joshua Skone and John W. Miller; two grandchildren, Ava Wolf and Joseph Skone; his sister Geraldine Dawson and his brother, Frank Miller.
A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, 955 N. Charlotte St., Potts-town, PA 19464.
Family and friends are invited to participate with words of remembrance.
