ROBERT L. CASSADY SR. [Bowling Green]

BOWLING GREEN — Robert L. Cassady Sr., 72, of Bowling Green, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at the Jefferson City Nursing Home & Rehab Center, Jefferson City, Tenn.

Born July 17, 1941 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Charles L. Cassady Sr. and Hazel (Moore) Cassady.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Billie Mae Cassady; a brother, Charles L. Cassady Jr.; and a sister, Patricia Gulick.

Mr. Cassady was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Viet Nam Era.

He was self-employed, operating B-C Motors.

Mr. Cassady was a member of Chapter 172, V.V.A.  and Henry Hart Post 1411, V.F.W.

He is survived by his three children, Kimberly Divelbliss and husband Ty, Robert Cassady Jr. and David Cassady; four grandchildren, Kyla Nunn, Kody Booth, Kadence Divelbliss, and Aidan Cassady; a great-grandchild, Makenna Nunn; and long-time friend, Wayne Babb.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Harold R. McClay Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, where military honors will be accorded by Chapter 172, V.V.A.
