GROVETOWN, Ga. — Harry Donald Hardin Jr., 49, of Grovetown, formerly of Greensboro, N.C., passed away peaceful and unexpectedly on May 22, 2013. He was taken from us too soon and without warning, leaving us with nothing but fond memories and lost love.
He was born in Cumberland, the son of the late Dorothy Jean Shepherd Schraa and stepfather James and survived by his father, Harry Donald Hardin Sr. and stepmother Barbara, of Brodnax, Va. Preceding him in death was his life partner of 20 years, William H. Ballard Jr.
Harry is survived by his three sisters, Jacquine Schmiedeknecht and husband Terry, of Front Royal, Va., Helen Resh and husband Timmy, of Stafford, Va. and Jennifer LaGrange and husband John, of Chester, Va. and stepsister, Vickie Buffmiere and husband Dave, of Kent Store, Va.; nephews, Thomas Clark Jr., Jonathan Burnett, Joseph Burnett and Michael Crowe; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and his loving dog, Kena.
Harry was a professional tractor trailer driver. During his many years of truck driving, Harry traveled to or through every state in the United States except Alaska and Hawaii.
Harry was a caring and loving brother, son, uncle and friend. His loving spirit, willing heart and value to give, blessed all who had the privilege to know him. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, 13800 Bedford Road NE, Cumberland.
