VIOLA B. KNOTTS [Gormania, W.Va.]

— GORMANIA, W.Va. — Viola Beatrice (Butts) Knotts, 94, of Gormania, W.Va., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home.  

Born on Feb. 17, 1919, in Gorman, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Leroy and Daisy Kathryn (Vann) Butts.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Knotts; a son, Daniel E. Knotts; two sisters, Ada Boigegrain and Ruby Wildesen and brothers, David, James, Theodore, Alden, Howard, John and Raymond Butts.

She was a member of the Gormania Methodist Church, Past President of the WSCS Ladies Auxiliary and Past President of the Gorman Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was retired from Bausch & Lomb in Oakland.  

She is survived by her daughter, Sara Jane Kuhn and husband Tom, of Oakland; a daughter-in-law, Kathern Knotts, of Oakland; one sister, Frances Cosner and husband Dale, of Bayard, W.Va.; three grandsons, Daniel F. Knotts and wife Carmelita, of Moyock, N.C., Douglas F. Knotts and wife Marianna, of McHenry and Dennis E. Knotts, of Oakland; two granddaughters, Janell Knotts, of Virginia Beach, Va. and Michelle Knotts, of Frostburg and a number of nieces and nephews.    

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Friday, Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  

A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m.  

Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
