— BRADENTON, Fla. — Elizabeth Talbott Treacy, 87, formerly of Cumberland, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013.

Born Elizabeth Caroline Talbott on Aug. 31, 1926, in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Ruth Talbott. Elizabeth, “Betty,” graduated from Fairmont High School and received a B.A. in Education from Fairmont State College in 1947.

An English teacher, she taught at Oakland High School in Oakland, Beall High School in Frostburg, and retired in 1988 from Allegany High School in Cumberland. She made a difference in the lives of all of her students.

She loved to garden, read, antique, and spend time with her family.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Ciolek of Bradenton; four children, Cynthia Folk of Martinsburg, W.Va., Suzanne Woodside (Tom NaSell) and Jane Treacy (Phil Eagleburger) of Washington, D.C. and Lisa (Terry) Lamberth, of Lake Mary, Fla. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Meghan, Cara, Nicholas; and one great-grandchild, Amy.

Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Fairmont, at 10 am on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2913. Following the service, burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Flowers may be sent to Ford Funeral Home in Fairmont, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington St., Cumberland, MD 21502.
