CUMBERLAND — Willard “Woodie” Franklin Guthrie, 74, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at his home.
Born March 27, 1940, in Bayard, W.Va., Mr. Guthrie was the son of the late Chester Madison Guthrie and Jennie Josephine (Serafin) Guthrie. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Diane Guthrie.
Woodie retired from Mead Westvaco (New Page) Corporation. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 271, the Good Fellowship Club, the Cumberland Outdoor Club, The Fraternal Order of Eagles Cresaptown Aerie 2445, the Cumberland Democrat Club, and the Knights of Columbus.
Woodie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela Kay Guthrie; and his children, Terri Leann Brown and husband, Daniel, Short Gap, W.Va., Michael Scott Guthrie, LaVale, and Deann Marie Guthrie, Cumberland. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Erin Denne and husband, Dr. Nick, Lyndsay Jackson and husband, Shawn, Traea Mallow, Matthew, Lexus, and Stone Guthrie; and his great-grandchildren, Sam and Maggie Denne, Keller Jackson, and Sterling Mallow. Woodie is also survived by his sister, Connie Kay Kline and husband, Stan; his niece, Misty King and husband, Clay; his great nephew, Gavin Clay: and his special grand dog, Daiquiri.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 10 a.m., with Deacon Dave Conley officiating.
