PEARL M. HARTMAN [Keyser, W.Va.]

KEYSER, W.Va. — Pearl Mae

Hartman, 79, of Keyser, died

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at her

residence.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1934

in Paw Paw, W.Va., daughter of

the late George and Mary

(Beatty) Sipes

Besides her parents, she was

preceded in death by four

brothers, Ernest, Marvin,

Percy, and Elmer; and one sister,

Nellie Hartman

Born and raised in Paw Paw,

Pearl met her husband, Ralph,

at a carnival in Romney when

she was 14. The couple married

two years later and moved to

Fort Bragg, N.C., where all

three girls were born. After five

years they moved to Germany

and then on to many other

posts including a very special

three year tour in Honolulu,

Hawaii. In 1968 Ralph retired

and they moved back to West

Virginia, landing in Keyser.

Pearl loved being a homemaker

and a mom. She also loved to

sew and made wedding gowns

for all three girls. She was

blessed to be married to the

love of her life for 63 years. A

special thanks to Potomac Valley

Hospice and especially Jennifer

Rosedale and Sheila

Fleming.

Surviving are her husband of

63 years, Ralph L. Hartman;

three daughters, Linda Mallow,

Franklin, W.Va., Jean Harman

and husband, Steven, Eckhart

Mines, and Joan Hartman,

New Creek, W.Va.; one sister,

Alice Lease, Paw Paw; seven

grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

The family will receive

friends at the Shaffer Funeral

Home on Sunday from 3 to 5

p.m.

The funeral service will be

Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at 11 a.m.

at the Shaffer Funeral Home

with Pastor Judi Stump officiating.

Interment will be at Elijah

High Cemetery, Purgitsville,

W.Va.
