ECKHART — Martha R. “Bonnie” Unger, 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Egle Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born Aug. 26, 1941 in National, to Martha E. Hott Leatherman and the late Harold W. Leatherman. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Thomas.
Bonnie was a member of Welsh Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Egle Nursing home as a cook.
Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Raymond W. Unger; daughter, Melissa Knapp and husband Kerry , Springfield, Va.; two grand daughters, Meghan and Hayley Knapp; two sisters, Nancy Leatherman, Barton, Barbara Kennedy, Hagerstown; two brothers, Norman Leatherman and wife Dottie, Keyser, W.Va., Harold “Butch” Leatherman and wife “Sis”, Barton; two step-brothers, Ken, John Devault; step-sister, Katie Miller; mother-in-law, Nellie Unger, Eckhart; sister-in-law, Sancey Unger, Charlie; brother-in-law, Dennis Unger and wife “Sis”; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her friends and family at Egle Nursing Rehab Center, as well as her good friends, Charlene Rosenberg and Gladys Raynor.
Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Jeffries officiating.
Internment will be held at Frostburg Memorial Park.
