— CUMBERLAND — Thomas Carl Lindner, 84, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born June 14, 1928, in Cumberland, Mr. Lindner was the son of the late Vincent Lindner and Ruth Anne (Valentine) Lindner. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Lindner and Vincent “Junior” Lindner.

A graduate of LaSalle High School, Tom retired from Kelly Springfield Tire and Rubber Company. After his retirement, he worked at Humpty Dumpty Learning Center. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Tom was a very kind, family oriented man. He loved the outdoors, being around others, as well as animals. Tom taught his children good values and morals. He had many friends in the community who will dearly miss him.

Tom is survived by his wife of 63 years, Darlene Lindner; and his children, Thomas Lindner, II, Robin Held, Susan Lindner-James and husband, Garry, Christopher Lindner and wife, Margie, Mark Lindner, Bryan Lindner and wife, Cheryl, and Linda Emerick and husband, Ross. He also leaves behind his brothers, Joseph Lindner and Alan Lindner; his sister, Ursula Dawson; his grandchildren, Brenda Layton, Lisa Kennell, Tracy Westry, Eugene Westry, Kevin Westry, Laura Lowery, Christopher Lindner, II, Kyrstin Lindner, Ashley Lindner, Travis Lindner, Victoria Emerick, and Dallas Emerick; as well as his great-grandchildren, Darren Layton, Sean Layton, Chelsea Kennell, Syvannah Kennell, Logan Kennell, Devante Westry, Kevin Westry, Jr., Dante Wilds, Stacey Barrett, Breanna Westry, Clayton Lindner, Brayden Lowery, Alana Walker, and Oakley Lindner; and his great-great grandson, Brayden Kennell.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 1 to 3 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at 3 p.m., with Father Steve Fernandes officiating.
