ROMNEY, W.Va. — Todd Matthew Bowman, 43, of Houston, Texas, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at his home in Houston.
He was born May 21, 1969 in Romney, son of the late William (Bill) R. Bowman and Nancy L. (Presgraves) Bowman of Romney.
Todd graduated from Hampshire High School in 1987 where he was active in cross country, track and field, and acting roles in class plays. He later graduated from West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va., and was a proud Mountaineer. Rising through the ranks of the restaurant and hospitality industry he was currently Director of Operations for Hospitality USA based in Houston, managing over 28 restaurants in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. He was respected and beloved by customers, co-workers, and management alike.
Besides his mother of Romney, he is survived by his only brother, Gregory W. Bowman; his nieces, Isabella R. and Olivia C. Dickens-Bowman and his sister-in-law, Janie Dickens-Bowman, all of Winchester, Va. In addition to a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends and admirers he also leaves behind his trusted canine companion, Chanel.
The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home, 230 East Main St., Romney, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013.
A Christian funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Romney Presbyterian Church, 100 West Rosemary Lane, Romney, with Pastor Barbara Johnson officiating.
Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery, Romney.
A celebration of life service will be held in Houston at a later date.
In honor of Todd’s memory, memorial contributions may be made to the Hampshire High School, class of 1987 Scholarship Fund, in care of the Bank of Romney, 95 East Main St., Romney.
