SWANTON — Paul David “P.D.” Lambert, 82, of Swanton, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Jan. 18, 1932 in Wymer, W.Va., he was the son of Robert Jason and Melvina (White) Lambert. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
P.D. was a Brakeman and Conductor for B&O Railroad, Chessie System and CSX Transportation, where he retired from after 40 years of service with the railroad. P.D. was also a truck driver for 15 years. He was a member of Glen Dale Assembly of God Church, Swanton and he loved hunting and the outdoors. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Libya for one year.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie L. (Sweitzter) Lambert; a son, Vincent Paul Lambert and wife, Coreen, Eagle Mountain, Utah; a granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Hipp and husband, Buck, Elk Garden, W.Va.
At P.D.’s request he will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, is in charge of his arrangements.
