MARY E. KELLEY [Grantsville]

GRANTSVILLE — Mary Elizabeth Kelley, 98, Grantsville, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland.

Born Jan. 19, 1916, at Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ida (Johnson) Miller. Mrs. Kelley was preceded in death by her husband, Harper E. Kelley; one daughter, Patricia E. Otto; and one grandson, Daniel Twigg.

Mrs. Kelley was a seamstress for Flushing Shirt Manufacturing for 26 years. She was a member of Woodmen of the World, Lodge 41, Grantsville Firemen’s Auxiliary and the Casselman Valley Sportsmen Club. Mrs. Kelley was Catholic by faith.

Surviving are two sons, Cecil E. Kelley, Friendsville, William E. Kelley, Grantsville; one daughter, Marjorie A. Hitchins, Frostburg; six grandchildren, Terry Twigg, Edward Kelley and wife, Bonnie, Pam Bleahley and husband, Dale, Zelma Wilson and husband Pete, Steve Kelley and wife Alisha, Kim Wilhelm and husband Gary; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Jackson (Jeff), Amy Crawford (Joseph), Alleene McElvie (Lee), Carrie Stonebreaker (Nate), Christina Muravski (Shane), Joey Atwell (Monica), Tiffany Morton, Danny Morton, Brett Kelley and Brittany Kelley; and numerous great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Herman Yoder officiating.

Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Duane Stein, Steve Smith, Shawn Broadwater, Dave Stein, Eugene Stein, Steve Miller.

Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Dept. or the Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
