M. PATRICIA “PAT” KAUFFMAN [Cumberland]

— CUMBERLAND — M. Patricia “Pat” Kauffman, 79, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born Oct. 21, 1933, in Frostburg, raised in Midland, and returned to Frostburg, in 1951, she was the daughter of the late James M. Murray and Alice (Winner) Murray. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James J. Murray and William G. Murray.

Pat attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and graduated from Beall High School, class of 1951. She was employed as a medical secretary at Sacred Heart Hospital when it was located on Decatur Street; and had worked for many local physicians over the years. She was last employed by Dr. Victor Felipa and worked for him for 30 very happy years. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Pat was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Pat is survived by her husband of 58 years, John “Jack” A. Kauffman, Cumberland; three children, Carol Kauffman, Cathy LoNigro, and Kevin Kauffman and wife Pam (Carney), all of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Alexis Kauffman Smith and husband Jeremy, Tyler LoNigro, Kaity Pat Kauffman, Adam LoNigro, and Shannon LoNigro; two great-granddaughters, Addison and Finley Smith; a sister, who was her best friend, Noreen Murray; as well as sisters-in-law, Robertine “Bobbie” Murray and Connie Murray.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland,  (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, July 15, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at noon with Father Steve Fernandes officiating.

Interment will be in S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
