RALPH W. MOYER SR. [Keyser, W.Va.]

KEYSER, W.Va. — Ralph W. Moyer Sr., 86, of Beacon Street, Keyser, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.

Born on Dec. 6, 1926 at Luke, he was son of the late Frank and Ruth (Schell) Moyer. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Donna L. (Metcalf) Moyer on Aug. 18, 2008; three sisters, Viola DeVore, Edith Pence and Garlene Embrey; and three brothers, Thomas, Robert and Donald Moyer.

Mr. Moyer was retired with 45 years of service at the Westvaco Luke Mill as a machine tender. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Keyser Presbyterian Church and Davis Lodge 51, A.F. & A.M., Keyser.

Surviving are one son, Ralph W. Moyer Jr. and wife Lori of Charlotte, N.C.; three daughters, Becky Viers and husband Harold of Keyser, Cindy Metcalfe of Morgantown, W.Va. and Cheryl Sauers and husband John of Hanover, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Danielle Viers, Michelle Cook, Amy Metcalfe, Jesse Metcalfe, John Sauers III, Chris Sauers, Brice Sauers and Forrest Sauers; and four great-grandchildren, Tori Cook, Alexis Pavon, Kyrsten Sauers and Gabrielle Chavenet.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ron Wilkes officiating.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser. Graveside Masonic rites will be accorded by Davis Lodge 51.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either the Mineral County Humane Society, HC 84, Box 12, Keyser, WV 26726 or the Heartland of Keyser Activities Department, 135 Southern Drive, Keyser, WV 26726.
