ROMNEY, W.Va. — William “Bill” Ernest Flynn, 66, of Romney, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 7, 2013 at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Bill was born on Sept. 26, 1946 in Pittsfield, Mass., son of the late Arnold Frederick and Wilhelmina  Elizabeth (Herritt) Flynn. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his special uncle, Earl Flynn.

Bill graduated from high school, served in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War and later graduated from Towson University, Towson. He retired from Lowe’s in Cumberland, in 2010. Bill was a loving husband and father.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Flynn; three sons, James Bell, Ft. Sill, Okla., Tony Bell, Virginia Beach, Va., Sam Bell and wife, Samantha of Virginia Beach; one daughter, Megan Flynn, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two rothers and one sister; aunt, Beverly  Flynn; two grandchildren, Brandon Bell and Maria Bell.

The family will receive friends at the Shaffer Funeral Home in Romney on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at the Shaffer Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Wes Beahm officiating.  

Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery, Romney.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shaffer Funeral Home, Romney.
