— CUMBERLAND — James “Jim,” “Jimmie” Calvin Castleman, 85, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013 at Devlin Manor Nursing Home.

Born Dec. 2, 1927 in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Robert Montague Castleman and Edith May (Myers) Castleman.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Roy, and Bruce Castleman; and, two sisters, Fay L. Harbaugh and Betty M. Norris.

Mr. Castleman had served in the U.S. Army.

He retired from CSX, having been a pipefitter. Mr. Castleman belonged to Local 100, Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Cumberland.

He was raised in St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Agnes (Ray) Castleman; one daughter, Judy C. Castleman, Cumberland; one grandson, Brian T. White, and wife Amy, LaVale; and, two sisters, May Adcock and Dorothy Smith, both of Ohio.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A. 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will be in MSVC Rocky Gap.
