— ACCIDENT — Martha Eloise (Ellie) DeWitt Davis, 74, of Accident, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

Ellie was born Oct. 1, 1938, in Sang Run. After her graduation with honors from Northern High School in 1956, she moved to Arlington, Va., to work at the Pentagon.

Following the birth of her children, she was a stay at home mom until 1968, when she was hired by the Bell System, now AT&T. She held many positions over the years and rose to first line Supervisor of Operations. She had the groundbreaking honor of being one of the first female managers ever with the Bell System. She married her soul mate Charles Thomas Davis in May 1987, retired in 1988, and together they enjoyed spoiling their children and grandchildren, spending time on their boat, and she graduated from Parvane’ Institute of Scientific Skin Care and Make Up Artistry as an Esthetician. In 1993, they moved back to Ellie’s roots in Accident to care for her aging mother. For the past twelve years, they enjoyed their winters in Florida. Ellie was a true philanthropist. She was incredibly kind, caring, tolerant, and a wonderful home decorator.

In addition to being survived by her loving husband, Charles Thomas (Tom) Davis, she is also survived by daughter, Sue Ellen Crum and husband, Wayne Crum of Monrovia, daughter, Jacqueline McKenzie Weakley and husband, Charles Weakley, Jr. of Frederick; daughter-in-law, Susan Elaine McKenzie of Gassaway, W.Va.; granddaughter, Amy Crum and Ivin Randolph of Frederick granddaughter, Carly Wright of Frederick, granddaughter, Jessica Boring and husband, Devin Boring of Gulfport, Miss., granddaughter, Stephanie Moore and husband, Matt Moore of Jane Lew, W.Va., granddaughter, Tamara Miller and husband, Jacob Miller of Frametown, W.Va., grandson, John Carlin and wife, Michelle of Libertytown, granddaughter, Jessica Cullinan and husband, Matt of Baltimore, granddaughter, Heather Weakley and Max Baldwin of Hagerstown; great-granddaughters, Khloe Randolph, Zoe Carlin, and Oliver Weakley; brother-in-law, Earl Davis and wife Pat, Gettysburg, Pa. and brother-in-law, David Davis and wife, Nancy. She was preceded in death by parents, Stephen and Evelyn DeWitt; in laws, Frank Charles Thomas and Rena Davis; son, Jeffrey Wayne McKenzie; grandson, Daniel McKenzie Wright; and brother, Harlan Dale DeWitt.  She will also be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, Betty, Ellen, and Sandy, her nieces and nephews, cousins, Donna and Lois, and friends, Flo and Yvonne.

A funeral service will be held at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy., Accident (McHenry), Wednesday, Feb., 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Diane Yoder and Pastor Anthony Yoder officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
