KINGWOOD, W.Va. — Lance “Chip” Steelman II, 43 of Kingwood, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013.
Chip was born on Nov. 30, 1969, in Kingwood, the son of Lance and Emma (DeGas-perin) Steelman.
He was a 1988 graduate of Kingwood High School and attended WVU. He was employed at Tetra Technologies, Inc. Chip was known for his quick wit, great sense of humor and charismatic smile. He was always ready with a funny story and his eyes would sparkle when he told a story about his daughter, Ila. He enjoyed golf with his family, was a scratch golfer and made us laugh. We will miss you Chip.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Ila; former wife, Kelly of Cumberland; sister, Toddi Steelman and her husband, Joe and their daughter, Lina Sinsheimer all of Canada; Jim and Marcy Rice, grandparents of Ila, of Cumberland.
Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood, on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Father Arthur Bufogle as celebrant.
To honor Chip’s wishes, cremation services were provided by Rotruck-Lobb Crematory, Kingwood.
The family requests that any memorial donations be made in Chip’s memory to the Ila Steelman Scholar Fund, 2356 Whetsell Settlement Road, Terra Alta, WV 26764.
