Richard “Dick” L. Riggleman Sr. [Keyser]

KEYSER, W.Va. — Richard “Dick” L. Riggleman Sr., 74, of Hughes Street, Keyser, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, Md.

Born on June 23, 1935, at Keyser, he was a son of the late Walter Patrick and Dorothy (Foltz) Riggleman. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard “Leroy” Riggleman and William “Bill” Riggleman; and a special nephew, Frederick Linaburg.

Mr. Riggleman was retired as a construction worker with 40 years of service with Laborers International Union, Local 616, Cumberland, and Local 379, Morgantown. He was a life member of the McCoole Fire and Rescue Departments and was a dedicated bingo volunteer. He was also an avid Washington Redskins fan.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Margaret E. (Boyce) Riggleman; two sons, Richard "Rick" Riggleman and wife Sandy of Keyser, and Boyd Lee Halterman and wife Liz of Kentucky; two daughters, Janet Tasker and husband Nelson of Keyser, and Diana Marsh and husband Mike of Inwood; six grandchildren, Curtis Tasker and wife Taryn, Brent Riggleman, Michael Marsh, Sabrina Tasker, Aaron Shawyer and Brittany Marsh; and a special niece, Sandy (Linaburg) Corbett and husband Jeff and their family, Cassie, Josh and Scarlett Miller and Jillian Corbett. Also surviving are six sisters, Betty Bissett of Sherwood, Ore., Patsy Craig and husband Bud of Newberg, Ore., Dottie Bowman of Keyser, Wanda Johnson of Keyser, Mary Ellen Johnston and husband Bub of McCoole, Md., and Helen "Weezie" Pearce of McCoole; one brother, Denny Riggleman and wife Blanche of El Paso, Texas; a sister-in-law, Kate Riggleman of Keyser; and numerous nieces and ne-phews; and his beloved dogs, Tiny, Riley and Gracie.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Curtis Tasker, the Rev. Wes Beahm and the Rev. James Boyce officiating.

Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the McCoole Volunteer Fire Department, 24931 Crooks Ave. S.W., McCoole, MD  21562.
