SWANTON — Ronald Ervin Tasker, 63, of Walnut Bottom, Swanton, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his home.  

Born on Nov. 29, 1949 in Mountain Lake Park, he was the son of the late Foster E. and Virginia M. (Hanna) Tasker.  

He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a coal miner and, later, as a timber-cutter. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends.  

He is survived by his wife, Patsy J. (Kent) Tasker, with whom he had spent more than 41 years; two sons, Todd Allen Tasker and Danny Ervin Kent, both of Walnut Bottom; and a sister, Lorraine Sims of Kitzmiller.  

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 710 Church St., Kitzmiller, on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  

A funeral service will be conducted in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, Mt. Zion Road, Swanton, on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. George H. Tichinel officiating.  

Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
