FLORENCE E. (DURST) SHUCK [Meyersdale, Pa.]

MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Florence Ellen (Durst) Shuck, 87, of Meyersdale, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.

Born March 20, 1926, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Anna Belle (Broadwater) Durst. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira William Shuck, in 1993; a daughter, Dolores Mae Christner; two grandchildren, Shawn Patrick Shuck and Lisa Ann Christner; and one great-grandson, Jeffrey Johnson.

Mrs. Shuck was a housekeeper for Patriot Manor and Knights Inn, Somerset, Pa. and also worked for Tressler’s Restaurant, Meyersdale. She was a member of the Laughlin Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by four sons, Gary Lee Shuck and wife, Colleen, Billy Allen Shuck, Ross Douglas Shuck and Russell Dean Shuck, all of Meyersdale; three daughters, Lois Ann Shuck, Kathy Kay Wolfrays and husband, William and Karen Sue Tressler and husband, David, all of Meyersdale; one son-in-law, David Christner, Birdsboro, Pa.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Barbara Rexrode officiating.

Interment will be in the Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
