WAYNESBORO, Pa. — John Claggett Grosh, 87, of Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Camp Hill, Pa.
Born in Cumberland, on Feb. 7, 1926, he was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary; stepfather, Stanley McCoy, and his sister, Thelma Crofton.
John served in the U.S. Navy on a PT Boat in the South Pacific during World War II. John later worked as a longtime employee of Sharrett Volkswagen in Hagerstown, as well as Cumberland Valley Volkswagen in Cumberland,, and Shockley Volkswagen in Frederick. More recently, John was enjoying his retirement by traveling and remaining active, working out daily at Gold’s Gym in Waynesboro.
John is survived by his loving wife, Yupa Sullivan; his two sons, J. Robert Grosh and Thomas Grosh; and his three stepchildren James Morison, Andrew Morison, and Kathleen Sullivan. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
