MOLLIE E. “CRICKETT” AMICK [Oldtown]

OLDTOWN — Mollie Elaine “Crickett” Amick, 69, of Oldtown, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 2, 1944 in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late William and Arveda (McCabe) Piper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Kenneth Amick.

Crickett was employed at Potomac Edison Electric Company as a customer service representative, where she enjoyed interacting with all the ones she met. She attended Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. Crickett enjoyed talking on the telephone, watching television, spending time with her family especially her nephew, Will. She loved cooking and especially Thanksgiving dinner.

Surviving are her brother, William Gary “Barney” Piper and his wife Cathy Elizabeth of Oldtown; her nephews, William Gary Piper II and Lee Amick; her aunt, Effie Slider of Annapolis; her uncle, George McCabe of Taberg, N.Y.; and numerous cousins.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Merle Correll and her brother, Pastor Barney Piper officiating.  

Interment will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Oldtown.
