— PINTO — Beatrice V. Walker, 94, of Pinto, passed away on Monday Jan. 27, 2014, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 29, 1919 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rose (Barton) Skelley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Doc” Walker; three daughters, Mary Ann Walker, Donna O’Rourke and Carolyn Brining; her siblings, Mike Skelley, Dorothy Corrick, Eloise Carr, and her niece Marion Warner.  

Beatrice was a member of the Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, the Red Hats Club, the Monday 500 Card Club, the Women’s Sports Club, Women’s Civic Club, and Gold Star Wives. Beatrice won the Volunteer of the Year Award with AARP. She also loved bowling and bowled for years on the ABL League at the Bowler and enjoyed traveling. Beatrice was a homemaker and was a loving mother.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.  

Surviving are her children, Glenn Walker and wife Vicki of Roanoke, Va., Barb Walker and fiancé, Larry Crabtree of Cumberland; grandchildren, Kevin O’Rourke of Knoxville, Tenn., Christy Griffin and husband Brian of Florida; great- grandchildren, Zackery and Sidney O’Rourke, Cameron, Kylie, Kirsten Griffin; her niece, Rosemarie Kirkley and family; nephew, Pete Walker; great-nephew Dave Campbell, and many special relatives.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. ( Cresaptown on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains, Saint Ambrose Catholic Church on Friday at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

We would like to thank everyone of you who were kind to mom in her life, she was only kind and caring to everyone in hers.
