SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. — Eugene David Delawder, 76, of Springfield, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Born July 20, 1936 in Paw Paw, W.Va., he was the son of the late Harry A. Delawder and Marjorie (Mortimer) Delawder Robertson.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Richard Delawder, Harry Delawder, Tom Delawder, Jack Delawder, and Arthur Robertson; and one sister, Betty Shrout.
Mr. Delawder was a member of the Romney First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at Kelly Springfield Tire Company for 19 years. He was part owner and retired from Hottle and Myers Heating & Air Conditioning, Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife, Delores (Shanholtz) Delawder; four children, Marjorie Spellman and husband Nathan of Philadelphia, Pa., Connie Sine and husband John of Capon Bridge, W.Va., Robert Delawder and wife Sharon of Corona, Calif. and Michille Delawder of Victorville, Calif.; one sister, Mary Moreland of Glen Burnie; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the McKee Funeral Home, Birch Lane, Romney, W.Va., on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Romney First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lester Harper officiating. The body will be taken to the church at 10 on Saturday.
Interment will follow in the Forest Glen Cemetary, Green Spring, W.Va., with military graveside rites conducted by the U.S. Air Force.
