KEYSER, W.Va. — Jo-Ann (Miller) Sites, 77, of Carolina Avenue, Keyser, W.Va., passed from this earth on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born on Nov. 28, 1935, at Bayard, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Joseph P. and Marion (Hardesty) Miller Junkins. She also was preceded in death by her stepfather, Albert D. Junkins; a brother, Joseph “Bucky” Miller; a stepbrother, Richard “Bud” Junkins; a stepsister, Bessie Dawson and a great-grandson, Joshua Ross.
A 1953 graduate of Elk Garden High School, Mrs. Sites was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed playing the piano, making music and taking care of her many houseplants. She was an avid owl collector and was a great fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers. She was Protestant by faith.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, George Edward Sites; one son, Gary P. Sites and wife Debbie; one daughter, Judy Proper, all of Keyser; four grandchildren, Stacey Coleman, of Piedmont, W.Va., Chris Sites, of Charlotte, N.C. and Jennifer and Justin Proper, both of Keyser and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Judy Mastrantonio and husband Ronnie, of New Creek, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, July 26, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Byron Mayberry officiating.
Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
