DALE F. MEESE SR. [Salisbury, Pa.]

SALISBURY, Pa. — Dale F. Meese Sr., 77, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his residence with his loving wife, devoted son and grandson by his side.

Born May 21, 1937, in Greenville Twp., he was the son of the late Reid and Emma (Dietle) Meese. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and twin brother, Donald Meese; one sister, Alverta McKenzie.

Dale was a truck driver for Oester Trucking and was known as “Studebaker” by all his truck driving buddies. His second love was his antique Studebakers. Dale was a graduate of Meyersdale High School and was a member of the Greenville Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, JoAnn (Thomas) Meese; his devoted son, Dale F. Meese Jr. and wife, Lisa (Livengood), Salisbury; loving grandfather of two grandchildren, Erin Nicole (Meese) Bird and husband, James, Houston, Texas, and Chadwick Dale Meese, Salisbury;and one sister, Dorothy Woodson, San Antonio, Texas.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ingrid Chenoweth officiating.

Interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
