RIDGELEY, W.Va. — With an ornery smile on her face, June J. Skidmore, 86, of Ridgeley, died Saturday, July 5, 2014, at her residence. June had been a resident of Dawn View Nursing Home.
Born May 9. 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Kathrine (Clark) Senn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. “Bumper” Skidmore Sr.; one daughter, Joann Dodrill; two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Senn and Billy Senn; and one sister, Dot Clark.
Mrs. Skidmore was a homemaker and a member of the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Bennick and husband Edward of Bethlehem, Pa. and Debbie Mills and husband Dave of Ridgeley; two sons, Robert H. Skidmore Jr. and wife Melissa of Ridgeley and Brian Skidmore and wife Julie of Ridgeley; one sister, Helen Petit and husband Bill of Ridgeley; one brother, John Senn and wife Cheryl of Ridgeley; one aunt, Opal Weaver of Old Furnace Road; her grandchildren, Tracey, Michelle, David Allen, Jason, Wally, Allison, Ed, Ryan, Bethany, and Tasha; her great-grandchildren, Desi, Bell, JoAnna, Sage, Roland, Ethan, Gabby, Lilly, Jordan, Noah, and Nicole; and one great-great granddaughter, EllieAnna; her sunshines, Shawnee, Krista, Nannie, and Diane.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com), 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, July 7, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren with the Rev. David Sutton and the Rev. Ed Weaver officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.
