RAWLINGS — Howard Bennett Ketterman Sr., 69, of Rawlings, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Nov. 2, 1943, in Rawlings, Mr. Ketterman was the son of the late Jesse Frank Ketterman and Margie (Carr) Ketterman. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Ketterman, Thomas “Bud” Ketterman, and Lewis Ketterman; and two sisters, Jean Goins and Marie Cosner.
Howard attended Allegany High School, Cumberland. He was employed as a painter, heating, and air conditioning installer, was self-employed for many years selling and installing carpet, and retired from the Local Painters and Laborers Union. He was a member of the Keyser Moose 662.
Howard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Jean Ketterman; and his sons, Howard Bennett Ketterman Jr. and wife, Sandy and Ronald Lee Ketterman, all of Cumberland. Howard is also survived by his brothers, Billy Ketterman and wife, Shirley, Keyser, W.Va., James Ketterman and wife, Doris, Martinsburg, W.Va. and Jesse Ketterman and wife, Barbara, Thurmont; and his sisters, Virginia “Jeni” Taylor and husband, Tom, Fort Ashby, W.Va. and Rosalie Rogers and husband, Arthur “Junior,” Moline, Ill.; as well as his grandchildren, Ryan, Marley, and Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Sherri Ziler officiating.
