KEYSER, W.Va. — Mary Jane (Miller) Sayers, 82, of Valley View Road, Keyser, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

Born Oct. 4, 1931, at Piedmont, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Troxell Harry Miller and Mary Rachel (Dunn) Miller.

Jane attended Saint Peters High School in Westernport. She was a member of the Keyser Assumption Catholic Church.

Jane was a previous employee of the West Virginia Department of Highways. She also worked at the Keyser Royal Restaurant, The Blue Jay, The Rendezvous, and Walgreens in Ohio and Sarasota, Fla.

Jane liked to watch basketball games and football games. She loved gardening, canning, and cooking. She won several local awards for her cooking and for her Easter Bread.

She is survived by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Quentin Sayers Sr.; one son, Quentin “Butch” Sayers and wife Deborah of Keyser; two granddaughters, Lorie (Sayers) Osborne and husband Sean of Monks Corner, S.C. and Autumn Sayers of Keyser; one brother, Charles Thomas Miller of Keyser; and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was extremely proud of her two granddaughters Lorie and Autumn. She wanted them and all her family and friends to know how much she loved them and how she appreciated all the help and kindness her family and friends had showed her.

At her request, she will have a
closed casket and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Keyser Assumption Catholic Church on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Father William K. Matheny Jr. as Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Assumption Catholic Church, 34 James Street, Keyser, WV 26726 or the Lupus Foundation of America, 455 9th St, Huntington, WV 25701.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Markwood Funeral Home, Keyser.
