ZIHLMAN — Hazel Elizabeth (Hilton) Blank, 95, of Zihlman, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

Born on July 29, 1918, in Holly Hill, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William M. Hilton and Daisy Hill Hilton. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Ervin Blank in 1999. Hazel was the last surviving member of her family.

She was a member of Allegany Methodist Church and she worked during the war in the Naval Yard in South Carolina.

She is survived by sons, Johnny Blank and wife Dee of Zihlman and Charles Blank and Brenda of Zihlman; a daughter, Terry Bennett and husband Robert of Zihlman. She is survived by grandchildren, Holly Weaver, Lori Wetmore, Jamie Blank, Matthew Bennett, Cody Bennett, and Jeff Blank; greatgrandchildren, John Blank, Jessica Blank, and Waylon Skidmore. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in South Carolina.

There will be a private viewing at Sowers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Allegany Methodist Church.
