— MCCOOLE — Ruth E. Staggs, 79, formerly of the Westernport Road, McCoole, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.

Born on Oct. 30, 1934, at Laureldale, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Myrle E. “Bob” and Mary E. (Tephabock) Staggs. She also was preceded in death by an infant brother, Norman E. Staggs.

Miss Staggs was retired from the Moran Manor Nursing Home in Westernport as a geriatric nursing assistant. She was a 1952 graduate of Keyser High School and was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Keyser.

Surviving are two daughters, Bonnie J. Barts and special friend Raymundo Marrufo of Richmond, Va., and Sue A. Turner and husband George of New Creek, W.Va., and a granddaughter, Tammy S. Turner of New Creek.

Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Samuel Biser officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Knobley Road, Keyser.
