— CUMBERLAND — Madeline Clarice Harper, 94, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday June 28, 2013 at Lions Center Nursing Home.

Born Nov. 9, 1918 in Grafton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marion and Esther (Goodnow) Stansbury. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Hanson; and her second husband, Robert “Wempe” Harper.  

Madeline was employed by the State of Maryland as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  

Surviving are her son, Jack Harper and wife Ethel of Salisbury; daughter, Carol Wright and husband Jerry of Chicago, Ill.; her sister, Kathy Whisner of Frostburg; sister-in-law, Jessie Stansbury; and 11 grandchildren.  

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Dietz officiating.  

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
